Moving to Montana

Thinking about making Montana home? You're not alone. The Gallatin Valley is one of the fastest-growing areas in the state, and for good reason: mountain views in every direction, world-class skiing, fishing and hiking, a strong local economy, and the kind of community where neighbors still wave.
At Restige Real Estate, our team of local REALTORS® helps people relocate to southwest Montana every year. We know how hard a long-distance move can be, and we're here to make it simple.
Where to Live in Southwest Montana
- Bozeman: The heart of the valley. A lively downtown, Montana State University, a growing tech and healthcare job market, and Bridger Bowl ski area just up the canyon. Browse Bozeman homes
- Belgrade: Bozeman's neighbor, with a little more room and often more house for the money. Home to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, Montana's busiest. Browse Belgrade homes
- Livingston: A historic railroad town on the Yellowstone River and the gateway to Paradise Valley and Yellowstone National Park. Browse Livingston homes
- Manhattan & Three Forks: Small-town charm west of Belgrade, surrounded by farmland and blue-ribbon rivers. Browse Manhattan homes | Browse Three Forks homes
- Gallatin Gateway: Quiet country living along the road to Big Sky. Browse Gallatin Gateway homes
- West Yellowstone: A one-of-a-kind town at the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, close to Hebgen Lake and the Madison River. Browse West Yellowstone homes

What to Know Before You Move
- The market: As of October 2026, there are more than 600 homes for sale across the towns we serve, from starter homes to ranches. Prices vary a lot from town to town, so it pays to work with an agent who knows the differences.
- Winters are real: Plan for snow from fall through spring. Ask us about heated garages, driveway orientation and snow removal before you buy.
- Getting here is easy: Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade offers nonstop flights to major cities across the country.
